Rogue Vs AF Tahoe Throwdown
Rich Froning Jr. and Dave Lipson Discuss Affiliation
The Challenges of Success
Beyond being CrossFit athletes, Rich Froning Jr. and Dave Lipson both own CrossFit affiliates. While stretching out at the Rogue vs. Again Faster Tahoe Throwdown, Dave and Rich got to talking about the challenge of starting an affiliate. Dave runs his affiliate at his home, so he saves money by not having to pay rent. Similarly, Rich saved money on rent for his affiliate by starting out in the corner of a gymnastics studio.
Dave and Rich have both seen their affiliates grow in the past several months. Success, though, has come with new challenges. With his travelling and studying for a Masters degree, Rich doesn't have much time to be at his box. Dave has a business partner who he has to make sure he communicates with while dealing with the influx of athletes to his gym. At the end of the day though, Dave says that it's great to be able to share his success with someone else.

Hoping that crossfit is still relevant when I'm finished with my Naval service. Nothing would please me more than to own an affiliate.
