CrossFit Sports Series: Downhill Ski and Board
CrossFit Takes to the Slopes of Park City
Fitness is a tool for bolstering activities outside the gym. CrossFit urges athletes to regularly seek out new avenues to test and develop their abilities. The CrossFit Sports Series is a conduit for CrossFitters to get together and try a new sport outside of their comfort zone. This incorporates a competition and - true to CrossFit fashion - an after-party to celebrate.
Two successful Sports Series events: rock climbing and stand-up paddleboarding have already been completed. Now the series is moving to the slopes of Park City, Utah, for a day-long foray into downhill skiing and snowboarding.
The event will take place at The Canyons on Saturday, January 15, starting at 10:00 AM. There will be free skiing in the morning before the race course is prepared for the competition. Each competitor will race twice on the same piece of eqiupment. Bring your own gear if you've got it, but ski and board rentals will be available for between $80 and $100. In addition to the physical challenge, there will be a Q&A session with Greg Glassman. Childcare and ski and snowboard lessons can be arranged with The Canyons prior to the event.
In this video, 2009 CrossFit Games Champion Mikko Salo, along with fellow Games competitors Christy Phillips and Rob Orlando take the hill at Big Bear Resort to test the correlation between work capacity and slope style.

Already planned to ski The Canyons that weekend so this is just an added bonus. No snowboarding for these old bones though, just sunshine and waist deep powder.

I can only participate Saturday but on the Active Registration it only offers a 2 or 3 day lift ticket option. How do I pay for just one day and register? Should I check on the Season Pass Holder option and then just buy my one ticket for the one day?
