Tahoe: Format For Final Events
Competition Comes Down to the Wire
It's lunchtime on Day Two of the Rogue Vs. Again Faster Tahoe Throwdown. With the input of athletes and team captains, coordinator Dave Castro mixes things up in the competition. Castro explains the format for a new style of callout, Type 3 callouts, to the room of CrossFit all-stars.
The final location of the weekend will see one 1-1 callout, one 2-2 callout and one 3-3 team callout, with the new format. Each athlete will compete in one of these events. Once an athlete has competed, they are ineligible for further competitions until all athlete choices have been exhausted.
The first team to go will be determined by a coin toss. This 'fielding team' has the opportunity to pick which athlete/team they will field for the event at hand. Before the announcement of the event details, the opposing team must pick an athlete or team to compete against them. Between the two athletes/teams, movements will be selected and a format will be constructed by the event coordinators.
The current score of the competition following the paddle-board race is 25-22. With 19 points available for the afternoon, it could be anyone's competition. "It's like a new day," Castro explains matter-of-factly.
The point values remain the same as before. In addition to the callouts there is still a full team, 8 point event remaining at the end of the day.
