Rogue Vs AF Tahoe Throwdown
Tahoe Event 17: Sled Push, Wall Ball, Ring Dips, and CTB Pull-ups
Hackenbruck and Henniger vs. Lipson and Berube
Score After 16 Events:
Again Faster: 23
Rogue: 25
Camille Leblanc-Bazinet's win over Miranda Oldroyd in Event 16's clean and handstand push-up ladder had earned Again Faster one point, and its first win of the day. Event 17 would be a 2 on 2 event, with one male and one female per team. Worth two points, it had the potential to tie Again Faster with Rogue.
Rogue sent forward Tommy Hackenbruck and Caity Henniger, while Again Faster chose Dave Lipson and Stacey Berube(formerly Kroon). Each athlete selected one movement for the event.
On Team Rogue, Tommy went with wall balls and Caity chose a sled push. As for Again Faster, Dave Lipson selected ring dips and Stacey chose chest-to-bar pull-ups. Dave Castro and Adrian Bozman decided the format for this event.
Event 17
As many rounds as possible in 12 minutes:
Team sled push
10 Wall ball, 20 lbs. for men, 10 for women
15 ring dips
15 chest-to-bar pull-ups
Both teammates could contribute to each movement in order to get the work done. However, this was not mandatory. The wall balls were much higher than standard.
The division of work between the two teammates was a key aspect to this event. Caity did not have ring dips, so Tommy had to do all 15 each time. She gave Tommy a brief rest by completing all of her team's wall balls, though. Stacey struggled with the wall balls, so Dave Lipson had to pick up the slack there. Stacey did quite a few ring dips and chest to bar pull-ups, though. Both teams had difficulty with directing the sled push, since the male athlete overpowered his side of the sled.
With only a few hours left in the competition, both teams laid it all out on the line in this event.

Difference maker:
Graham judging less strict on ring dips vs accented girls very strict standards.
Caused rogue guy to fatigue faster having to both go lower and fully extend.
Surprising no one saw that? The judges over-seeing everything should have stepped in and made that correction after the first "round" to make the rounds after fair.
Surprising a bunch of people who understand ROM standing around would let that slide.

Joe: Could not agree more! I don't think I saw Lipson's shoulder below his elbow once on the ring dips. very short ROM compared to the others..
