Rogue Vs AF Tahoe Throwdown
Roundtable in Tahoe: The Team Experience
The Athletes Discuss the Advantages of a Team Competition
Most of the athletes participating in the Rogue vs. Again Faster Tahoe Throwdown are individual competitors. The throwdown gave them an opportunity to work together as a team. Though they were still doing CrossFit, it was clear that this was a very different from the context that they were used to.
When Dave Castro asked them if they how they felt about the Throwdown, everyone in the room agreed that they were excited for the team competition. Dave Lipson said that he enjoyed competing for a group, instead of only working for himself. Rob Orlando remarked that he felt honored to even be included in such an elite gathering of athletes.
Training frequently at such a high intensity can lead to burnout, but Peter Egyed said that the experience of the Throwdown would continue to inspire him as he returned to his home box to train. Lastly, Christy Phillips remarked that the event was an opportunity to learn from other elite athletes, such as learning about intensity from Pat Barber.
