Kristan Clever and Her Family
How the Champ's Family Feels About CrossFit
Explaining CrossFit to people is hard, especially when they're family. 2010 Games female champion Kristan Clever is fortunate to have her family's support and understanding.
Kristan came in fourth at the 2009 CrossFit Games, but she hardly told her family anything about it. In 2010, they came to cheer her on at the Home Depot Center. The large venue and crowd impressed her parents.
When Kristan's family saw the opportunity that CrossFit provided, they started to realize that perhaps her training was "not all a waste of time." Her mom has even tried out a few CrossFit classes.
Kristan has also taken inspiration from her larger CrossFit family. She's a dedicated follower of the CrossFit.com videos and articles. Kristan says that watching her CrossFit heroes train online is "incredibly motivating".

Watching Kris train is awesome and inspiring in and of itself. I remember seeing Kris for the first time at the 2009 Games regional. Honestly, I first thought she was somebody's little kid running around, because she is so energetic and youthful. Then she blew away the three WODs with nothing short of a nuclear blast. Kris's energy, will and dedication to perfect form are extremely impressive. She comes to CrssFit with a clear ethos: get it done, get it done right, and get it done VERY fast. The definition of CrossFit speed and efficiency is: Kristan Clever. Thanks, Kris, for being a model of what we all are striving to achieve. You rock!
