CrossFit Fort Vancouver: The Competitive Element
Competition Motivates, But It Doesn't Define
CrossFit Fort Vancouver won the 2010 CrossFit Games Affiliate Cup. Adam Neiffer owns the affiliate and was captain of the Affiliate Cup team. He spoke recently about the impact of CrossFit competition on his affiliate.
Success in CrossFit competition has helped the day-to-day running of his affiliate. CrossFit Fort Vancouver's success has inspired its members to push the boundaries of what is possible for them. Neiffer doesn't think that competition defines his affiliate's community, though. The people who come in every day and accomplish things that they never thought they could are the real stars.
Having a successful affiliate team is not necessary for every CrossFit gym. Nonetheless, Neiffer thinks that competing in CrossFit will be a positive and rewarding experience for everyone involved.
