Rogue Vs AF Tahoe Throwdown
Tahoe Event Six: Relay Run, Plate Carry, Truck Push, and Buddy Carry
Bergeron, Leblanc, Hobart, and Maghee vs. Hackenbruck, Oldroyd, Clever, and Salo
Score After 5 Events:
Again Faster: 5
Rogue: 2
With its victory in Event Five, Again Faster had pulled ahead of Team Rogue, but Event Six had the potential to change everything. Worth five points, the sixth event would either bring Rogue ahead of Again Faster, or give Again Faster a commanding lead. It was a 4 on 4 team event, with two males and two females per team.
Event Six:
For time:
Relay run - one athlete at a time
Truck Load - Carry 1000 lbs. of plates to truck and load them
Truck Push - Loaded with weights (about 8,000 total lbs.), slightly uphill
Buddy Carry - Each member must carry another
Myriad variables went into athlete selection by Team Captains Jon Gilson and Bill Henniger. Carrying heavy weight plates and pushing a truck would involve a large absolute strength component, but the relay run and buddy carry would require substantial endurance and punish the larger athletes.
Again Faster sent Heather Bergeron, Camille Leblanc-Bazinet, James Hobart, and Eric Magee to go up against Rogue's Tommy Hackenbruck, Miranda Oldroyd, Kristan Clever, and Mikko Salo.
Surprisingly the athletes reported more fatigue in their arms than in their legs during the truck push. This runs contrary to the assumed consequence of such a task.

That may be true, but did you see Mikko running up that hill? Have you seen the other events. I think that a strongman would stand a chance in most of the other events.
