The competition is less than a week away. In final preparation for the event, the folks at USAW have compiled the information you need into one place. Square away your last minute logistics, then come and enjoy the weekend.
HOTEL INFORMATION
The competition will be held at the Cheyenne Mountain Resort in Colorado Springs, CO. Tucked away quietly amid breathtaking vistas awaits 316 finely appointed guest rooms and suites arranged in eight residential lodges across the resort. DIRECTIONS FROM THE COS AIRPORT AND I-25 TO THE HOTEL
DRIVING: Located in Colorado Springs, Cheyenne Mountain Resort is just a 20-minute drive from the Colorado Springs Airport, offering 120 daily flights from 10 commercial airlines. The property is approximately an hour's drive from Denver and Denver International Airport.
DIRECTIONS FROM THE COLORADO SPRINGS AIRPORT:
- Go west on Mark Proby Pkwy approximately 3 miles to Academy Blvd.
- Turn left on Academy and stay in the left-hand lane.
- Follow Academy approximately 4 miles to Highway 115.
- Exit north at Highway 115.
- Proceed approximately one mile to Cheyenne Mountain Blvd.
- Turn left on Cheyenne Mountain Blvd. and go one block to Broadmoor Valley Rd.
- Turn left and go three blocks to Cheyenne Mountain Resort.
DIRECTIONS FROM I-25:
- Exit 138 - Circle Drive.
- Turn West (toward the mountains).
- Two miles to Highway 115 South - Canon City.
- Continue under the overpass and LEFT turn onto ramp.
- First traffic light, Cheyenne Mountain Boulevard, turn RIGHT.
- Take the first LEFT, Broadmoor Valley Road - (Resort's sign on the corner).
- One half mile to Cheyenne Mountain Resort - Main Entrance on the LEFT.
HOTEL CHECK-IN AND REGISTRATION
You will be responsible for your room, tax and incidental charges at the hotel. The hotel room rate is $108.00 per night. You can check into your room at the front desk of the resort upon arrival.
PARKING AT HOTEL
Parking at the hotel is free for guests, spectators and competitors of the CrossFit / USAW Open.
ARRIVAL & DEPARTURES INTO COLORADO SPRINGS AIRPORT
If you are flying into the Colorado Springs Airport (COS) and staying at the Cheyenne Mountain Resort, please make sure to call Guest Services to have you free shuttle scheduled. They will need to know what airline you are flying in on and what time you will be arriving. They will pick you up right outside of the front entrance and take you to the resort. This shuttle is complementary, provided you already have reservations at the resort. You can schedule your shuttle one day prior to your flight.

There will be a 10 minute break between snatch and clean & jerk. |

Awards will be handed out at the end of each day. |
SCORING METHOD
The weightlifting portion will be scored by adding the kilograms of the athlete’s best snatch plus the kilograms of the athlete’s best clean & jerk. The CrossFit Triplet will be scored by adding the number of reps performed in the ten minute allotted time. The CrossFit Triplet is as follows: complete as many rounds as possible in ten minutes of six squat cleans (55kg men / 30kg women), 12 pull-ups and 24 double unders. For each round there are 42 reps/points available (6 + 12 + 24 = 42). The combined total of the weightlifting portion and the CrossFit portion will be your total score for the 2010 CrossFit / USA Weightlifting Open.
SATURDAY NIGHT RECEPTION
There will be a reception on Saturday evening starting at 6:00pm at the outdoor pool pavilion of the Cheyenne Mountain Resort. There is no charge to get in and there will be a cash bar and a barbecue station set up to order various types of food. All competitors, supporters and spectators are welcome to attend.
TOURS OF THE OLYMPIC TRAINING CENTER
There will be free tours offered of the Colorado Springs Olympic Training Center throughout the weekend. The cost of transportation from the Cheyenne Mountain Resort will be $10 round trip. For more information on the Colorado Springs Olympic Training Center please click here.

The weather forecast calls for sun and upper 70s throughout the weekend, with clear skies and lower 50s at night.
