CrossFit/USAW Open Will Stream Live For Free

Catch the Action Live From Colorado Springs

If you can't make it out to Colorado Springs for the CrossFit/USAW Open, you're in luck. The action will stream live from the Springs to your desktop.

The show will open this Friday, October 1st at 9:30 local time in Colorado Springs (8:30 Pacific, 11:30 Eastern). The preview show will last a half hour, during which we'll introduce the competition and discuss the significance and opportunities of this union of CrossFit with USAW.

You can catch all of the action at live.crossfit.com. In the first event of its kind, CrossFitters will go head to head with weightlifting specialists. To help make sense of the fierce competition, the best weightlifting coaches and athletes in the U.S. will be on hand to provide commentary, insight, and evaluation. Expect detailed, expert analysis of weightlifting technique throughout the event. We'll have six cameras set up with instant replays and events highlights.

Friday's action will kick off at 10am, when the lighter weight classes start to lift. Coverage will continue all weekend. Community favorite Chris Spealler is competing in the first group of lifters and searching for a berth in the USAW Nationals. The action will continue throughout the day with action from the platforms, sponsor highlights and CrossFit compeition. The day will climax with a head to head battle as Josh Everett and Dave Lipson will take the stage to tackle Isabel.

The action will be archived by weight class on live.crossfit.com for ease of viewing.

I can't find any info about how spectators can get tickets.

Is it door sales only or will online ticket sales be announced at some stage?
Free entry for spectators perhaps?

Everyone at CrossFit Great Barrington are huge fans of Heather and James and all the competitors. It's like being a kid again and rooting for your favorite Major League Baseball player. Instead it's a CrossFitter! Who woulda thunk?

Will there be an option to stream to mobile phones?

Is the games broadcast in flash player. The only way I get to watch them is on my IPad and it does not support Flash.

Good Luck Heather.

Anyone else's feed skipping all over the place? I am on very high speed internet and it skips every 3 seconds or so.

15. Robert S. wrote...

Skipping bad here, too. Audio and video are out of sync.

16. Dave wrote...

Yes! Feed is basically unwatchable.

17. Kyle wrote...

High speed internet here too and mine won't even start the feed...

18. Josh wrote...

Same here, the video skips every few seconds and then seems to run in fast forward

19. Chad wrote...

I just shut it off, too bad to even watch. Hopefully the archived footage won't be this bad.

20. Kurt wrote...

Yeah was really looking forward to watching the live stream. Don't know what the deal is but I'm also running on a high internet connection and the stream is skipping and audio is out of sync as well.

21. Mike wrote...

Unwatchable... skipping all over the place. Have high speed internet

22. RDeBell wrote...

Yeah this stream is just awful...awful. I really hope they get some IT ppl out to fix it up.

23. Jessica wrote...

I was able to see the spotty footage earlier but now it won't even load at all. Maybe they are trying to fix it now.

24. RDeBell wrote...

yeah it isnt loading for me now either..maybe they are smoothing things out

25. Kurt wrote...

I'm just glad to know I'm not the only one with this problem

26. Jesus wrote...

Im kind of mad that I'm missing it, but I'll be pissed if I have to miss the Isabel face-off! That's something that should be awsome to watch!

27. Jesus wrote...

ITS WORKING!!!! KINDA...

28. Christin wrote...

Ugh! It's jumping all over the place for me too and I have high speed along with the latest of everything! Boo! I really wanted to watch it but it's so annoying.

29. Nathan wrote...

Tell someone in operations for the live stream that it is pausing every 5 seconds. Verified from several user throughout the country. Even with current throughput of 12 Mbps down

30. Pat wrote...

This is really disappointing - they did such a good job with the live feed from the 2010 Games a few months ago. Really hope they get it fixed.

31. Christian wrote...

Best of luck Heather, James & Mel!! Heather, 34 going on 24!! You're stronger than eva.

32. Kyle wrote...

Now my live feed is showing Animal Planet....wtf?

33. Michael wrote...

How's the stream working for everyone else? I'm getting nothing.

34. rob wrote...

nothing!!!

35. Dave wrote...

Sweet! The stream is working...showing farmers and their longhorns. Well-played HQ.

36. rob wrote...

Yep, and now snippets of a Giant Cat in the SPCA????

37. Andrew wrote...

Ah, I've been trying to watch it all day. Downer.

38. mel wrote...

Does anyone know when the Isabelle-off is happening?

Will the live stream be up by then!??!?!?

39. Kris wrote...

LMAO It went from freezing every 5 seconds and delayed audio to a girls softball game.

Disaster. The Games coverage was very impressive, I was hoping for more of the same this time around.

40. rob wrote...

The worst part is that there is no explanation, apology, seeming attempt to rectify this..

41. Troy wrote...

To bad, they never had the coverage working. I really was looking forward to watching this.

42. Doug L wrote...

I say we all contact HQ and demand a full refund of every penny we paid for this live feed.

43. kris kepler wrote...

you knuckleheads are amazing... yes it sucks the feed didn't work, but HQ doesn't owe us an apology, nor do they owe us an explanation. they don't owe us anything. As for any rebuttal you may have, all you will be doing is whining, so lets hear the whiners whine some more... and whine some more... and whine, ahhh you get my point.

peace and love

44. Doug L wrote...

I'm watching the archived footage right now, it looks fine.

Yes I am also disappointed the live footage is not working well but what do any of us have to complain about ? !

Oh wait, there's some static in tbe audio

I demand that HQ fix this immediately !

45. Christin wrote...

Glad the FREE stream is working (or it was yesterday). In defense of those of us that whined, we were just disappointed.

46. mie wrote...
