Big Guys Don't Cry
Tommy talks about the advantages and disadvantages of being a larger athlete
It's not always fun being a heavyweight. Sure it was easier for them to steal your lunch money and double bounce you on the trampoline. Not so fun when the WOD says, "Ring Handstand push-ups," though.
Tommy Hackenbruck and Brandon Phillips were two of the larger competitors at this years Games. Again Faster caught them in the athlete warm-up area immediately prior to the Ring HSPU/Power Clean Event. Phillips and Hackenbruck wax on what the perfect body type for the event would be, and lament being big guys - at least for the immediate task at hand.
Tommy gives insight about his strategy in the Sandbag Move Event. He also explains the difference in his mindset on the final day of 2010, versus that of 2009.

Tommy is a humble stud with a great attitude! Great representation of CrossFit.
I'm wondering how long it will take for the Games to incorporate weight classes? Maybe when the sport gets a little more mainstream.
