Lipson on the CrossFit/USAW Open
CrossFit Strongman Is Working On Technique
Dave Lipson is strong - very strong. At a fighting weight of 215-lbs. his most recent deadlift PR was 680 pounds and his front squat is well over 425 pounds. However, his fast lifts are not congruent with these numbers.
Dave makes no bones about it. "I'll be the first to tell you, I kinda suck at Olympic Lifting... just compared to my strength numbers," he says in this interview with Again Faster. To remedy this disparity, Dave has solicited the advice of professionals. Coach Burgener and Josh Everett are working with Lipson to drop the weight and get back to basics.
Dave is excited to witness the meeting of Olympic Lifting specialists and CrossFitters. "It's like comparing figure skaters and hockey players," He says.
Dave will put his skills to the test October 1-3 at the CrossFit/USAW Open, hosted by the Cheyenne Mountain Resort.
It's not too late to register for the event online.
