It pays to be a winner, with new details of the Affiliate Cup top prize from Rogue Fitness.
CrossFit competitors train hard. The motivation for that training comes from within, for love of the game and the pursuit of elite fitness. As the competition grows, so do the rewards for outstanding performance. While athletes don't compete simply for the money, the prospect of outfitting a new affiliate is motivation in itself.
The 2007 CrossFit Games champions were handed $500 in cash. 2008 saw the addition of prize packages from sponsors like Smith Optics and Forged Clothing, along with a $1,500 cash top prize. This trend grew through the 2009 Games, where the top performers pocketed $5,000.
Now, 2010 is set to blow the doors off. With support of companies like PROGENEX, CrossFit athletes now have a winner's prize purse set at $25,000 each for the world's fittest man and woman.
Rogue Fitness and Again Faster have provided both equipment and logistical/media support to most, if not all, of the Qualifiers. Below are the details of Rogue's package for the winners of this year's Affiliate competition:
1) I-14 Infinity Rig with 4 West Side Rack Spots
2) Four Rogue Castro Bars
3) Four Rogue HG Collars
4) 500LBS of Rogue Bumper Plates
5) Four Sets of Rogue Wooden Rings
This package is worth over $5,000.
