What is your athletic background?
I grew up playing soccer, and had a strong passion for board sports (snowboarding, skateboarding, wakeboarding). I started lifting weights at about 15, and by 18 was very serious about my training. Unfortunately I had never heard of CrossFit and it was all bodybuilding, but I loved the iron and stayed consistent with it through college. I started training people while attending Chico State and after graduating I became a 24hr fitness trainer in Stockton, CA. I eventually moved on to a small private studio. I found CrossFit online one day, tried the Filthy Fifty and was hooked! I signed up for my level 1 shortly after and decided I needed to open Stockton's first CrossFit with my partner Vince Carter.
What is your history with CrossFit?
I currently am co-owner of CrossFit 209 Sport
, I start my first session at 6am and leave the box at 6pm. I take off 10-11am and 1-3pm to train myself, and fill the other hours with a combinations of CrossFit classes and Private coaching.
What is unique about you as an individual or athlete?
As an athlete i am a firm believer in dedication and consistency, with diet, training, and mental capacity. Training through soreness, and being tired from long days and early hours has helped me develop mental strength that transfers into all elements of life. CrossFit has helped me in many ways and satisfies a competitive nature that recreational soccer and softball leagues could not.
