Day 2 Recap: Canadian Regional
Individual competitor field is shaken by the first two events.
The weather did not let up in Canada, but competition has moved in doors and the athletes were tested with a brand new set of challenges. Here is the Saturday update from our neighbors to the north.
Day two in Canada challenged athletes with the Snatch Complex and Wallball/Pull-up events in the Individual competition. The events led to a shake-up in the standings for both the men and women! Out of day one's top three athletes only the leaders - Garth Prouse and Alicia Connors - remain in the current top six. We expect another electric day and more movement tomorrow morning from event four, Double Under/Burpees. Only nine points separate sixth from 16th place for men. Closer still is the female competition, where only three points separate third and sixth place. A new heat schedule will be devised after Event four for the Final Event, the Tire Flip/Clean & Jerk/ Run.
CrossFit Calgary and CrossFit Vancouver are now joined by Team OPT in the affiliate cup top three. Only the final event remains for teams to earn a spot to the finals.

Just a little curious about the scoring for event #3.
Why are all the girls who did not finish that WOD in the specified time cap receiving a score for the workout and not a DNF. There is currently a competitor who didn't finish this event sitting in 10th place with a chance to make it into the qualifying 6 and that doesn't make much sense.
At the same time, in event #2 there was a male competitor who did not complete the workout and was given a DNF and shuttled down to the bottom of the list with no chance to qualify.

It has to be because so few of the Girls finished in the time cap, Only 13 of the 42 finished in the 15 minutes. the burpee annie wod time cap of 10 mins might be a little lean as well...

Yeah, I was a little confused on the scoring for event #3 as well Chris S. It didn't look like it was written as a AMRAP event. I would have expected a lot of DNFs. Seems a bit odd that someone can qualify who didn't complete all events as R'xd over someone who did.
