What is your athletic background?
I played mainly team sports growing up, focusing on Soccer, which I played at the Division II collegiate level. I was first exposed to lifting on my high school track team. I have a lot of experience being coached, and being on a team, and I really enjoy the camaraderie - not to mention having someone programming for me. It was a natural draw for me towards CrossFit.
What is your history with CrossFit?
I was exposed to CrossFit through my husband, who found it on the internet. He started incorporating CrossFit workouts into his daily gym routine. I watched him and thought he was insane for at least a few months. Then I tried it, and I was hooked. I joined a box as soon as possible. CrossFit is my new sport.
What is unique and/or interesting about you as an individual or athlete?
I definitely am not a preacher, but I try hard to lead by example. When people at work ask me what that black thing is in my lunch (aka an avocado) or what I'm doing in those pictures on Facebook, I am always happy to explain, but I much prefer to show people how I'm getting stronger, faster, and healthier rather than tell them. Seeing is believing.
