What is your athletic background?
I skied competitively in high school and also played competitive golf and baseball during that time. I also trained as a power lifter for six months in Australia about six years ago while studying abroad. I have been training on and off in Olympic weightlifting for the past year and a half, and will actually be competing in the National Collegiate Olympic Weightlifting Championships. I have been CrossFitting for almost 2 years now as well.
What is your history with CrossFit?
I interned at Cynergy Crossfit after I completed my B.S. at the University of New Hampshire in Exercise Science close to 2 years ago. I came into the internship without a clue of what CrossFit actually was and before long, I drank the kool-aid and was hooked! I received my CrossFit level 1 certification in January of 2009 and have been teaching Crossfit for about a year and a half.
Currently I am a trainer at Crossfit Portsmouth while getting my Masters in Exercise Science from the University of New Hampshire. My thesis is also CrossFit related as I am exploring the cardiovascular response to a bout of tabata burpees, mountain climbers, and squats. Who knew school could be so much fun!?
