The following comes from Jeff Tucker of GSX Athletics.
Some basic info for all of you for the regional master’s class, affiliate teams, individual competitors, staff, and spectators
Packet Pick Up - Friday May 28th we will open check in of all athletes and teams at GSX, located at 5220 West Vickery Blvd. Fort Worth, Texas 76107. At 2pm we will begin check in and packet pick up for team and athlete packets. Mandatory completion/pick up of all packets and check in for all athletes must be completed by 6 pm that day May 28th, 2010. Team packets will include your WOD schedule for the weekend and much more.
The Talk - At 6pm, we will go over all items concerning the work outs and the flow for the event. All teams and competitors must be in attendance. This will be an opportunity for you to ask any questions concerning the event, workouts, etc.
Social, Ya’ll - We have Texas style barbeque beginning at 7pm – beer, brisket, and sausage and all are welcome to attend. Modest price and very Paleo - well except for the beer - for those that need water we got your back!
Standards Meeting - Judges and volunteer standard meeting will begin at 3 pm on May 28th and all judges must attend. This meeting will last for about an hour or so but will be completed by 6pm. We will go though all judging criteria walk the grounds of the event and show you the flow of the event will occur all weekend. Volunteers will be handed their respective duties for the weekend and. We are very grateful to have all of you be a part of this event – no way in hell we could do this with out you.
Affiliate Teams – we have 30 of you registered thus far. Registration of Affiliate teams will be closed two weeks prior to the event on May 29th – so have all your registration done and completed. As of now we are only taking up to 40 teams dependant on teams registration we may expand that. You need to have one team captain pick up your packet after 2pm May 28th. All of the team members need to meet at GSX, 6pm for the standards meeting and we will answer any questions you may have concerning your event.
Go Time - We will begin the event at 8am sharp May 29th, events should conclude May 30th by 6pm if not earlier. We will have affiliate workouts and individual workouts on both days and be ready for anything. Many vendors will be on hand – Progenex, Rogue Fitness, C2, Life as Rxd, CF apparel, Dollamur Mat Solutions, and much more. Paleo meat will be grilled all weekend, beer will flow (at a very reasonable fee this year), coffe will brew for you, a jump house for the kiddos and GSX staff will entertain them as well inside the large tumbling gym.
Services For All Competitors - We will have on hand this year massage therapy, Active Sport and Spine treatment area (tape, ice, ART, feel good zone), Arrositi Treatment area for all your needs (feel good zone), Progenex will be making recovery shakes for all athletes – mmmmm recovered, and a hospitality area complete with water, fruit, and nuts.
A Place to Crash - Hotel information for our region has been placed on CrossFit Games Site under the Events page of South Central Regional - we contracted some good deals with local hotels for the area. Please check out www.gsxcrossfit.com for more info under our regional header and for location of the event box and www.fortworth.com for local color of Ft. Worth area. Spectator fee for Regional - There is a $50 charge for spectators, which gets you two wristbands for the entire event. This means you will be able to get one other person/guest in with you when you come to check in. That second individual will need to be with you when you check in at the registration booth at the entrance to the Event Center the weekend of the Regional Games. There is no on-line registration needed for the second person. Onsite (Sunday only) individual, single day passes will be sold. There is a no refund policy for the event once charges have occurred.
