Aussie WA/SA/NT CrossFit Sectional Wrap-up
Jas Pelham of CrossFit Perth checks in with the following report about the Australian WA/SA/NT sectional.
"Our CrossFit community turned out in force last weekend to support athletes in their quest for a top ten placing to qualify for the Regionals. Athletes were treated to CrossFit heaven as affiliates joined forces and put together a first class CrossFit facility. With three separate arena's, there was no risk of athletes becoming comfortable with their surroundings.
With such a broad range of tasks placed on the athlete we witnessed a rapid change in the rankings as strengths and weakness appeared. Our top 10 athletes displayed the critical elements to represent WA/SA/NT at the Australian Regional's in May. The women excelled with some star performers, Cecilia Robinson was untouchable after the first event, extending her lead in each of the remaining. Our men were well represented with Hayden Thornacroft keeping Josh Caddy at bay the first day, resulting in a riveting finish with the last event a matter of seconds between first and second."

Had a great weekend, definately worth making the road trip over from SA for it. Big thanks to jas and CrossFit Perth along with all the other affiliates (Southern Crossfit, The Cell, SF Gym, The Mill, Territory) that chipped in, came along and generally made it a good event.
Look forward to seeing a bigger, better event next year and hopefully getting over there for a few game days before then.

Yes, what a great weekend! This was my first taste of CrossFit competition and the whole experience was amazing. Saw some great performances from some great athletes out there. Well done to all who competed and congratulations to all those who qualified for the regionals.
Now that I've had a taste, I'm looking forward to joining in some more games/competition days in the future! What a great bunch of people CrossFitters are.

I would like to add my thanks, gratitude and pride to all our helpers. Several days of not a lot of sleep and people just pulling wonderful assistance out of thin air.
And I'm sorry I didn't get the sleds into the skip bin! I think Helen, Eilidh and Edgar at least moved those things many more times than the athletes themselves in order to reset for each heat. I know several of you were disappointed that they still existed this last Sunday! *grin*
A shout out for our volunteers goes to Helen, Laurie, Tracey S., Eilidh, Biljana, Steve, Goran, Rey, Liz, Andrew, Mick, Edgar, Adam, Debbie, Lachie, Jade, Toby, Marilyn, Julia, Paul, Tracy L, Carol, John, Robyn and Caris. I hope I haven't missed anyone. Considering the amount of work that got done with this relatively small amount of people, you can all consider yourselves superstars in my book!
Mwah!
