Day 1 Results: Hawaii Sectional
Bryant Powers of CrossFit Oahu checks in with the following report from day 1 of the Hawaiian sectional.
"It was a beautiful day here on Oahu and a perfect day to kick off the 2010 Hawaiian Crossfit Sectionals! There are athletes from across the Islands competing for those top 3 spots which will allow them to participate in the regionals. Along with competitors from CFO, we have men and women from Crossfit Ewa Beach, Crossfit Upcountry Maui, Crossfit Raw Fitness Maui, Crossfit Big Island, and Hardass Fitness.
Our morning kicked off with the first WOD at 9:30 and that's when the madness began. Every athlete gave it their all as they attempted to finish (and crush) each of the three workouts. The day's excitement was full of new personal records, rivalries, and just raw bad-assness, and tomorrow is guaranteed to be just as incredible! The first WOD begins tomorrow morning at 9:30 so hope to see everyone again! "
Here are the top 3 competitors heading in to day 2:
Top 3 Men
1. Andrew Byron
2. Erik Alvarez
3. Adam Jamieson
Top 3 Women
1. Katie Heinrich
2. Emilia Quezada
3. Courtney Johnson

Awesome WOD's guys, great imagination! can any let us know how you ran the skill sessions; did you apply time limits on movements, did continuous mean no pauses, did athletes get more than one attempt, was kipping allowed in HSPU, did you apply oly standards to lifts????
It is disappointing that with so many sceptics on the forum it appears that not many showed up.

I just want to see the results of the Gauntlet. How many rounds of Cindy did your folks get through? Is it posted by total reps?

If memory serves me, 8 rounds of Cindy was the score to beat.
