Day 1 Results: British Columbia Sectional
A Football Total, 2k row and decidedly difficult triplet separate the pack heading in to day 2.
The following report comes from Jesse Bifano of CrossFit Squamish checks in with the following report.
“It was a big first day for BC. Starting with some solid numbers in the CrossFit Football Total. Most notably, Isaac Payne with a 600 lb. deadlift and a total of 1640. As the day progressed the top women put up 800 (Kendall Hardy), 830 (Alicia Connors), and 870 (Emily Beers) Totals respectively. Workout 2 was a bit of a beat down for most after the total. It wasn't uncommon to hear someone say they thought their numbers would be way higher. The end of the day wrapped up with a 2000m Row. Given the Football Total and the 5 min AMRAP it seemed very unlikely that many row times would be PRs. But with a Concept 2 Race Kit and a couple hundred CrossFitters to cheer you on, we posted many PR's and saw Jeremy Bomhof take the men's heat with a 6:29.9 and Emily Beers lead the Women with a 7:23.0. Note that 14 men went sub 7, and 9 women broke the 8 minute barrier. All in all an impressive day for a solid group of athletes.”
