The Creative Muscle Behind SoCal Sectional Artwork
Janee Meadows and James Grundler are the team behind the poster designs for the 2010 SoCal Sectionals.
James writes for television, radio, and major motion pictures. Recently James and his band Golden State, were featured on the new Apple iPad commercial.
Janee is an illustrator and graphic designer. Inspired by music, she has worked with many of today's young chart-topping bands to create illustration driven designs. last October she was Cut&Paste's 2D Digital Design Global Champion.
Both got hooked on CrossFit two years ago, thanks to James' brother Bill Grundler, founder of CrossFit Inferno in San Luis Obispo, CA. They haven't looked back since.
Their new passion for kettlebells and kipping pull-ups has inspired them to use their artistic skills to give back to the CF community.
James wrote a jingle for CrossFit Inferno; which made it's way into a thirty-second radio spot (a must-hear for any KISS fan). Janée teamed up with CrossFit LA to design a retro-movie poster-style shirt for the 2010 Sectionals. Recently James and Janée have been working with CrossFit High Voltage in Burbank, CA.

Hey All,
I have some news about the t-shirts. First of all, yes, the artwork and design is AWESOME!! We LOVE it - and love that Janee was so generous in designing it for us!
However, we ran into a snafu when trying to make the t-shirts. From what I understand, there are specific art requirements that need to be met in creating the screens for printing. The artwork we got from Janee, though great on screen and print, didn't meet the requirements for t-shirts. We tried for a week to get in touch with her to make these changes (she is the only one with the original files who could do it), and we've been unable to reach her.
We've had to make other plans for a t-shirt in the mean time... certainly NOT our first choice, but a cool design none the less.
We hope that Janee is OK - and if anyone reading this knows her whereabouts or how to reach her, please give her the word that we've been trying to reach her.
Sorry that we won't have this t-shirt available for the event. If you click the link to the store to buy the shirt, you'll see the design for the new shirts.
