CrossFit Australia

CrossFit Australia is spreading like a summer blaze. Every athlete, every gathering, and at every competition, CrossFit gains more and more support from the local community. what started out as a small gathering to support each others affiliate groups has morphed into events that raise community awareness of CrossFit values and fitness benefits.

Last year a small group of athletes from Australia and New Zealand qualified for the World CrossFit Games and journeyed to Aromas, CA in the USA with a small team of supporters. This year, more than 50 are expected to cross the Pacific to lend support to those who qualify.

There is much anticipation in 2010 as Australia is home to a large population of extremely fit individuals. These men and women are chomping at the bit to have a roaring go at the 2010 qualifiers.

The 2009 Qualifiers were held locally at the CFX facilities. With the growth of CrossFit and the enthusiasm received from athletes, supporters and the broader community at large, the stakes have been raised and a facility has been organized by CFX and CrossFit Never Quit to accommodate more than 3000 spectators.

The games will be the event of the year. With equipment especially made for the facilities, sponsorship from local businesses and support from gym members, we expect a massive turnout to support all the athletes on their journey to Aromas.

It is not only the elite athletes that we encourage to participate. Every CrossFit member is welcome to enter to show their personal best. The 2 day event will see a variety of preliminaries and culminate in some exciting heats to pull forth the best from Australia and New Zealand.
