Washington Sectional

Possible Pull-up Standards - Washington Sectional

Jesse Ward from the Washington Sectional (in the US Northwest Region) makes no promises that pull-ups will or won't be part of their competition.

If they are part of the event, they might use the same standard from the 09 Games. Or they might go back to the chest-to-bar standard of the 08 Games. Or maybe they will do pull-ups on rings or ropes.

They made a video of all the possible standards, and yet warrant not that they'll stick to these options! Go figure.

I vote for Quasi-strict, tiny cheat with a funky lateral movement! Good video to stir the masses!

The music was good... I just hope they don't give other sectionals ideas with those ropes. Eek!

how about using the rope as the pull up bar? tie it between 2 posts horizontally...then make the athlete actually shimmy along the rope from one post to the next...this is all beginning to sound like survival of the fittest! cool video guys, gonna start doing some pull-up variations here at Burlington's CrossFit Altitude, thanks for the ideas :)

I would be very curios to see each judges interpretation of what constitutes full ROM on such pullups.....ropes, rings, half-strict...ect. Most athletes without constant correction will reach with the chin rather than actually clearing the collar bone above the bar(object). Could be fun but I certainly wouldn't want to be a judge :)
